Trend or True?

Our kids are growing up in a fast-paced, constantly changing world. Everything changes at the speed of a microwave! For example: The I-Phone was introduced last year—and if you bought one then– you’re already out-of-date! And it seems that more and more we are also seeing basic values and rules for living changing quickly too. From the government to things that are so basic like manners. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen society’s rules change as much and as quickly as I have in the past twenty years. Whatever happened to just taking your hat off when you go to church? And aren't we all a little tired of the disgusting stuff that has become TV entertainment? Life’s changes come fast for all of us, but if you don’t have anything to compare it too – you may not notice. That is why it is so important, parents, that we give our kids a solid standard - something that is unchangeable - to hold onto. IHow can our precious children learn that just because a movie star or MTV performer behaves a certain way, that doesn’t make it right? We must assert some values-teaching in our homes as our kids' leaders.. So, when your kids appear to be accepting a cultural trend that isn’t right or in agreement with God’s Word, take a stand. Let them know that Some things never change.
