Independent Kids Are Money Dependent

If you sent a child off to college or are preparing to do so, you may be worrying if they are really ready to go. You may be discovering that your son or daughter doesn't really know much about money management. And that's scary. Many college students today struggle with money problems. They don't seem to understand that finances are limited- and when they spend more money than they have -- Mom and Dad are just supposed to bail them out! Money experts tell us, that part of the problem is that this generation of students have been raised where money has been largely invisible. I know when my parents were raising me, they took their paycheck to the bank, withdraw cash from the teller, and then used the cash to pay for purchases. Today's paychecks are direct-deposited and we get cash from a machine, and we pay for almost everything with plastic! Kids really don't have an idea of where money comes from! Well, money isn't magic or mystical and in itself its not bad. God's Word tells us it's the LOVE of money that is evil. But it sometimes feels bad, when our kids get themselves - and us-- into trouble over it.  Get help, advice, and direction to find solutions to your kids' money problems.
