As a Christian woman, like me, you are surely inspired by stories of women who have been overcomers in the world and by the grace of God have launched into living vigorously for the King of Kings. It can also be a little intimidating and overwhelming to hear these testimonies of women, wives and mothers, who’ve climbed out of drug addictions, who’ve battled cancers to give birth to their baby, who’ve toughed out years of marriage with an unfaithful or alcoholic husband. These stories are challenging to tell and to listen to. Maybe when you hear one of these summaries of a life who conquered impossible mountains to get to a life of faithfulness you aren’t sure if you would be able to do the same under the same circumstances. If life does hand you a bad lemon, one of the ways you will get through it is knowing God’s Word. It’s a rich library of wisdom. Begin today to immerse yourself in the Bible. Make a study of all the women of the Bible who have miraculous stories. The woman in Proverbs 31 is a great place to start. She was a homemaker who was blessed by her children and her husband. As you study her life, you’ll see that she is a “can-do” person. Gain courage for your own faithwalk by learning of the Bible women’s confidence in God.
