Good Kids...
12/30/2008
It is so nice to be around a child that has good manners. It is a pleasure to be with a child who is kind and caring and shows respect for others. I just want to say thank you, parents, for doing your job. It takes a lot of patient teaching to turn a "wild child" into a "good kid". During the holiday season, it is especially nice when a child shows respectful behavior, because there of so many family and friends be together. You do realize that children don't just know how to use these basic courtesies? I hear it all the time... "That is a wild kid!" spoken about some little one whose parents may have tried but not perservered with the whole manner's teaching. Parents -- here are some basic manners that kids must be taught in order to know. And It certainly helps if at home, your family practices saying kind, caring words to each other and shows respectful behavior to each other. 1) Teach your child to say "yes sir" and "yes ma'am" to adults. 2) Teach them to always say "thank you" when someone serves them food or gives them something. Bless their hearts, kids just won't learn these things if Moms and Dads aren't training them. 3) Are you teaching your kids to not talk back or be sassy to an adult? You wnat your child to be liked. For others to want to be around them. And one problem a lack of manners in a child causes is that when he or she doesn't use manners - this hurts your child - because then other people have a difficult time wanting to being around them. So, parents do your kids a favor, and teach them to show kindness and respect for others in all situations. Then folks will think, "He's such a good kid!" That's good for you and your child.
